You may find yourself doubting each and everything you do and that happens because you don’t have the confidence to say “I can do it, I can do anything I put my mind to through Christ.”

Why is it so hard to get things done or do the things that we say we are going to do? There are so many distractions in our lives and YOU are one of them. We talk ourselves out of accomplishing things every chance we get and it decreases our confidence. How can you boost your morale? Take a look at what is going on in your life and ask yourself. “What is my purpose in life?” You can be a distraction telling yourself I can’t do this or I don’t think I can do it. But in all actuality each and every one of you can change your mindset.

You can change the simplest things that you think you are afraid of and say “I am not growing, I am not changing, I want my life to be better than it was yesterday and it can be done.” Repeat that every chance you get, in the morning, in the shower, at the breakfast table, walking to work, sitting at your desk at work or anywhere you are. Especially if you’re dreading the job you’re in and you’re saying to yourself, “I need to do better, I need better for my life and my children’s life.” You will begin to see that the confidence you didn’t have to do that thing you wanted to do will slowly start to peak out.

Just believe in yourself-1

I know what you may be thinking and it’s okay. It will be hard at first but trust me it helps and it works. Our lives are filled with distractions and I’m here to tell you that you can put a blind eye to it. The distractions in your lives are enabling you to go forth in this world to make the change you’ve been dreaming of. Think of it this way, if you had the chance to tell your 10 year old self or even 15 year old self, what would you say? I would say stop getting distracted and focus on your school work, make more friends, study so hard that you can be brighter than the smartest kid in the school. But sometimes being book smart is not all there is to it.

I would tell my younger self to never put down that guitar. I loved singing and playing the guitar in school and I think I would have been a pro at it if I’d continue on with music. But my interests was business classes especially Accounting so I went on that route. But I think that if I continued playing the guitar and even learned other instruments I would be into music more and maybe write my own songs. Artistically, some children flourish more if it is part of their lives. So I would probably tell my family to get me all the instruments there is. But only if we could also talk to our families when talking to our younger selves. This dream is for us to work on ourselves and if we look back, knowing the things we know now as an adult, we can make the changes in our lives now.

Just believe in yourself

The main distraction is social media and the reality t.v. shows that are polluting our minds. Do you know that we look at or go on our devices more that 300 times a day? If there was something else you could be doing with that time what else would it be? Really take a moment and grab a pen and notepad and start writing down your dreams and aspirations. We all have dreams and always tell ourselves that we can’t do it. It’s time to say, “I can do all things through Christ and he is my Lord and Savior.” Repeat this right now and believe you can do it and it will come to pass. Besides social media and the t.v. our friends and family can be your biggest distraction and naysayer. If you were to look at every idea you had and thought to tell someone who’s close to you, what’s the first things they say or do. Probably laugh at you right and say what are you even talking about you can’t do that. I’m sure you can point out one person who has done that in your life. How has that made you feel? I definitely know how it has made me feel. I’m sure you may have had an argument with that family member and some of you may be not speaking to that family member or friend. You may have been thinking that why would your friend Michelle or Jennifer who you’ve been friends with since kindergarten say such things about you or not even believe in you.

The main things some of us want in life is someone to believe in us and we may not have that love and support we thought we had from that friend or family member. The first thing we have to do is pray for that friend or family member. If you don’t know how to pray for them first pray for yourself to have the patience and guidance to deal with or to have self control because the first thing you don’t want to do is say something to that family member or friend you may regret. Sometimes, it may be hard and that means we have to start working on ourselves. We have to learn that not everyone who says they love us really have our best interest at heart. You have to pray for faith that you can believe that God can get you through any hardship or heartache in your life.

Fear is another distraction in our lives. Some of you may be deathly afraid of change and don’t know how to put that best foot forward we’ve been dreaming of our whole lives. Fear of someone speaking down to you because your idea may sound silly to them. And that causes some of you to not speak up. Some of your personalities and traits may even be hindering you, especially if you’re an introvert. Trust me I know. But there comes a point in your life where you have to really look at the things in your life that you want to change and figure out a way to change it. Find ways to overcome that fear even if it is to join a group or a club that is something out of your element. These things will help you boost your confidence and your morale and day by day you’ll begin to see the changes.

Even if it’s the way you make your bed in the morning or you stop checking your social media account first thing in the morning. You may even decide to delete it for awhile because you see how distracting it is. You may even decide to stop spending money the way you have been because you may have realized that that money could be going into that piggy bank to start that business idea you’ve been dreaming of. Change can be hard and if you look at the way your life is going and you say to yourself. “Self, I can do better, my life needs a change. Let’s take an internal inventory of the things that is causing a distraction in my life and let’s get rid of it.” When you do that self reflection you’ll begin to realize that maybe, change isn’t hard after all. You’ll begin to say my life needs an overhaul and even if you have to take a break from those things that is distracting you then so be it. It’s for the betterment of your future. Especially, if you’ve been sitting on a dream and dreading your life.

The first step, is to read more. I know in school we learned that reading is the key to success. I know I saw that everywhere throughout my school life. But as kids some of us never really understood the value of reading but as adults we can change that. For some of you that want to have your own business but is too scared, you have to read more entrepreneurial or business books. We have to learn from the ones that did it and had success stories to share. It maybe hard especially if some of you don’t like reading hard cover books or even on a kindle or reading app. But you can also listen to the books. There are audible books out there that you can listen to in the shower, while you’re getting ready or even driving. That’s were discipline comes in. You have to learn how to disciple yourself. We are so stuck in the mindset that we were in that it can be hard to change but if we are serious about change and want better for ourselves we have to make those simple steps that may seem big. We should have learned discipline in school especially when we had homework assignments which involved reading.

Trust me I don’t mean to take you back to your school days, I know some of you may not have had a great school life and may have been trying to put those days behind you but in order to see change we have to make the changes. With this being the second day of fall and three more months till the end of the year, we have to say to ourselves this is the point of our lives where we have to grab the bull by the horns and say, “Life, you’re not going to knock me down again, I can do it, I can accomplish the impossible.” Whatever your impossible may be, just know that dreams do come through. Pray about it and continue to make the impossible possible. Remember that reading is the key to success. Don’t just read nonfiction novels, read motivational success driven books and believe me you’ll start to see the changes in your life start to manifest and remember all things aren’t possible without GOD.
