Have you seen those Sunday reset videos? Deep-cleaning the fridge, prepping fifteen containers of lunch, color-coding the entire week, all before noon. I watch them and honestly, I feel tired.
I love the idea of a reset. I just want mine to feel restful too. So here’s my softer version, the one that actually leaves me feeling cared for on Sunday night.
The Goal Isn’t to Get Everything Done
A Sunday reset isn’t about catching up on every chore you didn’t get to. It’s about making Monday a little kinder to the woman who has to live it. That means a bit of preparation and a lot of care.
My Gentle Sunday Reset
1. Start slow. No alarm if I can help it. Coffee or tea, sitting down, before anything else.
2. Reset one space, not the whole house. Usually the kitchen or my bedroom. I pick whichever one will make my mornings easier and leave the rest.
3. Fresh sheets. There’s nothing like climbing into clean sheets on Sunday night. It feels like starting the week with a gift to myself.
4. A look at the week ahead. I open my planner and note appointments, deadlines and anything I’m dreading. Seeing it all on paper keeps it from swirling in my head.
5. One thing just for me. A walk, a long bath, an hour with a book, a phone call with someone I love. This part isn’t optional.
6. A short journal check-in. What went well last week? What do I want to carry into this one? What can I leave behind?
Make It Yours
Your reset might look completely different. Maybe it’s church and a family dinner. Maybe it’s a long run and a nap. The only rule is that it should leave you feeling more like yourself, not less.
If your Sunday routine makes you dread Sunday, it’s not a reset. It’s a second job. You’re allowed to let it be softer than that.
Here’s to a Sunday that feels like a deep breath. You deserve to begin your week feeling loved, not just caught up.
